Move in, move out, keep your deposit
Walk every room before the keys change hands and again at the end. When a deduction appears on the final statement, you can show what the room actually looked like — and on which date.
Record a video walkthrough before, another one after, and let AI compare them. CompareAI reports exactly what changed and exports a timestamped, fingerprinted PDF — your evidence when someone claims you caused the damage.

What CompareAI is
You already film the flat before you move out, or the rental car before you drive off. CompareAI turns that habit into structured, dated, verifiable evidence: the footage is organised by area, read by AI, and sealed into a report you can hand to a landlord, a rental desk, an insurer or a client.

A guided walk-around of a car, van, boat or machine takes a couple of minutes. Every angle is captured on video with a timestamp, so a scratch that was already there stays already there.
Switch a project to Showcase work and the AI describes what was completed instead of hunting for damage — cables run, fixtures fitted, surfaces finished — and rates the workmanship for your client-facing report.
How it works
A project holds the thing you are documenting. Inside it, each area you film is a scan — and every scan has a Before phase and an After phase.
Pick a category — house, apartment, car, laptop, plumbing job, storage unit — name it, and you drop straight into the capture screen.
Film a steady walkthrough of each area — pan slowly, keep the light good, cover the whole space. Then do the work, or let the rental period run, and film the After with the same scan name so the two pair up.
When an upload finishes, the footage is sent to Google Gemini, which watches the entire clip — not a single frame — and compares the After against its matching Before to pinpoint what changed.
One tap turns a project into a PDF: per-area findings, video thumbnails, timestamps and a verification fingerprint. Share it by email, message or AirDrop — every report is kept under Report history to re-open later.
Features
Built for the moment someone disputes what you left behind.
A photo shows one angle at one moment. A walkthrough shows the whole room, continuously — far harder to argue with, and far harder to stage.
An After scan is matched to the Before scan with the same name, so the AI reports what changed rather than just describing the footage.
Each issue comes back as a description, a location and a minor / moderate / major rating, plus a short overall summary per area.
Tell the app the property type, how many levels and how many bedrooms and bathrooms — it creates the scan list for you, ready to film.
Tap the front, rear, sides and wheels on a car diagram; each hotspot becomes its own scan so the walk-around is complete and consistent.
Findings, thumbnails, timestamps, a per-video fingerprint and a report hash — in a document you can send to anyone.
Every export is stored against the project, so you can re-open or re-share the exact document you sent months ago.
Basements, car parks, building sites. Film anyway — the queue survives a restart and uploads the moment there is signal again.
Charts across all projects: scans by status, findings by severity, and what is still waiting to be captured or analysed.
Evidence you can defend
Anyone can take a screenshot and crop it. CompareAI is built so the document you hand over can be checked rather than trusted.
Who it's for
Move-in and move-out walkthroughs that settle deposit deductions before they become an argument.
Document the place between guests, so a claim is backed by footage from the right date.
A guided walk-around before you drive off, and another when you hand the keys back.
Prove the state of a site before you started, and showcase the finished work to the client.
Record furniture, instruments or machinery before transit and on arrival.
A dated, structured record of what an item or property looked like before the loss.
Watches, artwork, cameras, tools — anything you lend out or store somewhere else.
Routine checks of offices, storage units, warehouses and fleets, filed and searchable.
Pricing
Recording, projects, scans and reports are free. What Pro adds is more AI analyses each month and a much longer retention window for your footage.

FAQ
A photo proves one angle at one instant, and a dispute usually turns on the corner nobody photographed. A continuous walkthrough covers the whole space, shows the context around each mark, and is much harder to pass off as taken on a different day. It is the main thing that sets CompareAI apart from photo-based condition apps.
Each area you film is a named scan with a Before phase and an After phase. When you record an After, it is paired with the Before of the same name in that project, and both videos go to the AI together — so the result is a comparison, not a description. If a project has several Before scans, the app asks which area the new footage belongs to rather than guessing.
No. It is an assistant, not an adjudicator: it reads the footage and drafts the findings so you do not have to write them up, and you should review them before sending a report. The evidence that carries weight is the timestamped video itself — the AI makes it legible.
Every video is fingerprinted with SHA-256 when it uploads, and the exported PDF contains a hash covering all of the documented data — scans, findings and each video's fingerprint. That hash is also recorded on the server when the report is generated, so a PDF someone has edited will not match the record.
It is tamper-evident rather than magic: it does not stop anyone altering a file, it makes the alteration provable.
Your footage is stored in a private bucket, inside a folder tied to your account, protected by row-level security — nobody else's account can read it, and the files are never public. Videos are sent to Google Gemini solely to produce the analysis for the scan you asked about. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Free accounts keep videos for 30 days; Pro keeps them for 12 months. The app shows the expiry date on each scan and a storage summary in your profile. Exported PDFs are not pruned on that schedule, so export a report before the window closes if the evidence still matters.
Capture does. Recordings are copied to a queue on the device and uploaded automatically once you are back online — the home screen shows anything still pending. AI analysis needs a connection, and runs as soon as the upload completes.
Yes, from inside the app. Deletion removes your stored videos and reports along with the account. If you have a subscription, cancel it separately in your app store settings — deleting the account does not stop the billing.
